Crystal Bridal Comb Tiara

Eleanor

Eleanor of Aquitaine was one of the most dynamic woman of the Middle Ages. This great queen and legendary beauty won the heart of not just one, but two Medieval kings; first Louis VII of France, then Henry II of England. Her influence echoed down the ages, even to today. She changed the temper of romance, and with it the position of women forever. It was Eleanor who encouraged the art of courtly love. Until the twelfth century, women held a tentative place in society, vulnerable to the whims of men as to whether they were treated as human beings, servants, or evil temptresses. Courtly love formalized the relationship between men and women, and put women on pedestals. It was the bases of all the great romantic tales; such as the Arthurian legends, and many of Shakespeare's tragedies. Of course, women of the twenty-first century want to be treated as equals, but being worshiped by your lover every now and then can still be pretty delicious!
Eleanor's ideals of romance are wonderfully reflected in this fabulous tiara. Like an English garden where troubadours might gather to sing about Lancelot and Guinevere. This wild flora has been tamed and brought together in a beautiful design. The bounty of leaves and blossoms is embellished with lively Austrian crystals. This lovely headpiece measures 4 and 1/2 inches wide, and is a little less than 1-inch the peak. The flexible band and comb make it a great choice for a variety of hairstyles as well. Completely hand wired. Eleanor herself would have been proud to add this lovely piece to her own crown treasures!

The bride is wearing earrings 4020, necklace 4017, and Veil 602, which are not included in this sale. Be sure to see my other galleries for jewelry sets and many other bridal accessories perfect for yourself and your bridesmaids.
