Crystal Wedding Comb
Crystal Rainfall
It's the one spring day you had hoped it wouldn't rain. You had wanted this day to be perfect,
absolutely flawless, and it is, except for the rain. You are putting on you gown, surrounded by the women you have chosen to stand up with you as
you make a covenant with your groom. The bouquets are lush and fragrant. Your make-up is gorgeous. Your hair shines as it cascades down your neck
and rests on your shoulders. You are nearly ready for your debut as a bride. You try to hold it together, but on the inside you are quietly lamenting
the rain that falls just outside the window. Is it a sign of poor luck? A bad omen? As if she knew your innermost thoughts, your grandmother comes
into the room to wish you well and see you in your gown. She, in her wisdom, reminds you that it is the rain which causes the flowers to grow and
gives them what they need to blossom and flourish. She tells you that rain on your wedding day is a symbol of love and signifies how love will cause
your marriage to blossom and grow over many years. As she speaks, she reaches up and places a jeweled comb in your hair. It now looks as if crystal
raindrops are woven into each fallen tendril. You kiss your grandmother on the cheek and realize that this is your perfect day!
Austrian crysal and Austrian crystal beads explode on the silvertoned comb. The decoration of this lovely comb spans the entire 5 inch length, and is just under 1 inch at it's center peak. White or off-white gowns look particularly
lovely with this design.
