Pretty as a Picture
It was a Sunday morning ritual to sit on the rooftop of their row house. The baked rooftop felt warm and
hospitable as she raised her dad's old Nikon to her eye. On the other side of her glass lens is a parade of white roses marching down a lush, green vine.
With the click of the shutter, the bells on a steeple rang as they had one hundred years before. A gargoyle grinned at her in amusement from the age-old church
next door. The clouds exhaled and blew a breath into the pages of her sweetheart's mystery novel. For a moment the book came to life drawing in a much needed
breath. The paper gracefully lifted then stacked itself neatly back together. He looked up and sweetly smiled. In a quick snap she captured the subtle magic
of a Sunday morning against the tree-topped sky.
