Silver Headband
Belle Epoque
The years between 1871 and 1914 represent one of the most fascinating periods in the European history.
There was nearly no other period during which so many artists and scientists were contemporaries.
Arts and sciences developed with incomparable speed and intensity. The years from about 1890 onwards
were called Belle Epoque by the French--"Beautiful Period"--for good reason. The Art Nouveau is a mixture of baroque, oriental and classical elements, in parts strongly influenced by Japanese art. In Art Nouveau straight lines are absent; the lines seem to bend infinitely, the forms swell and contract. It is the nature serving as model: Being a decorative art by origin, the artists preferred ornamental structures imitating flowers and leaves. Living, growing flora inspired most works of the Belle Epoque. The curved lines create an impression of lightness and charm in this tiara.

Inspired by the Belle Epoque, our designers have created this
stunning tiara. The tiny flowers are bejeweled
by sparkling Austrian crystals. At 1/2 an inch wide, the regal headband really makes a
subtle statement. The design measures 9 inches of the dazzling 13 1/2 inch band,
and the silver-tone finish will make this tiara feel like an heirloom passed down from the
empress herself. The lovely faux pearls that are featured in the band are just barely
off-white, but tiny enough not to limit the color of gown this grand piece can be worn
with. Upswept hairstyles look especially stunning with this piece, but you can also use
it with any number of longer or shorter styles as well, and the pin loops on each end of
the band will help to hold it securely in place. The bride is wearing earrings No.402, and
necklace No.493 which are featured in our other galleries.
