Daisy May
Daisy's middle name wasn't really May. That name was bestowed on this young farm girl by her many suitors.
When they'd come to court her, they'd always ask her polite questions like, "Daisy, may I walk you home?"
or "Daisy, may I have this dance?" so it stuck. Daisy was beautiful, smart, and loved life. She had her
pick of all the boys in her small town. When a rich and handsome stranger drove into town and set his sights
on Daisy May the local boys figured they might as well give up. Like many other young country girls, Daisy
wanted to have nice things and see the world, and this stranger promised her just that. But Daisy May
surprised everyone. She married the boy next door, whom she'd been in love with all along, anyway. They lived
to a ripe old age together, and Daisy May was so happy she never missed what the rich stranger could have
given her.
