The Princess Garden
Long ago in a small kingdom there lived a lovely sad princess. Her father was forcing her to marry a prince she didn't love. She seldom left her chambers. All day she would sit staring forlornly at the same empty spot outside her window.
The king wanted his castle gardens prepared for the wedding, so he hired a gardener renowned for his skills at growing flowers. The gardener brought along his clever and handsome young son to help him. One day the gardener's son spotted the princess in her window and fell instantly in love with her. He though she was at once the most beautiful, and saddest person he'd ever seen. He knew they couldn't be together, but he wanted to see her happy, if only for a moment. So he decided to plant a flower garden in the spot that she stared at so intently. He planted only white flowers to symbolize the purity of his love for her. There were white roses, orchids, and night blooming jasmine, exotic delights for both the eyes and nose. No matter how hard he worked, though, she still stared blankly with no reaction. Finally, on the eve of her wedding she came to her window and sighed as if she were seeing the flower garden for the first time. Then she saw the gardener's handsome son and she smiled wider than she had smiled in months!
The next morning both the princess and the gardener's son were missing. The king sent his soldiers out to look for them, but they were never found. Years later it was said that there was a man living in a faraway kingdom with an almost magical green thumb. He was married to a beautiful, aristocratic woman, and they always kept the most beautiful white garden.

Would the princess have worn white flowers in her hair? We think so, and maybe they would have been like the lovely flowers in our Princess Garden Comb. This beautiful hand-wired piece is indeed a varied bouquet. The white porcelain rose buds, blossoms of "cat's eye" stones, and frosted calla flowers are all accented by faux pearls, leaves of white enamel, beading, and flower centers of Austrian crystals and pearls. The design measures approximately 1 1/8 inches at the crown, and spans the full 6 1/2 inches of the sturdy, but comfortable silver-tone band. This is the perfect bridal head piece for white and off-white ensembles. It will compliment many hair styles, and will look stunning with or without and veil.
The bride is wearing necklace N3003nc (upper right) and necklace N3001 (left) and veil No.602 which are not included. Be sure to check the other galleries for wedding accessories perfect for yourself or your bridesmaids.
