Crystal Bridal Tiara

Caroline Herschel
14 Karat Gold plated!

Caroline Herschel was never content to just be the sister of EnglandŐs most famous telescope maker and astronomer. She helped her famous brother scan the heavens and created a catalogue of deep space objects. She spent long hours in the rose garden working with the telescopes they used to collect light from distant objects. King George III recognized her authority in the science of astronomy and gave her a pension of fifty pounds. This was the first time that a woman was recognized for a scientific position. Caroline was the discoverer of no fewer than eight comets. Before her death, she catalogued every discovery that she and William had made. She sent this to the scientific community in England, and they proclaimed her an honorary member of the Royal Astronomical Society and the Royal Irish Academy. Germany honored her as well. The King of Prussia gave her the Gold Medal of Science for her life's accomplishments. Caroline lived to be ninety-eight. The church of her childhood, near her parents, is where she now rests. The entire scientific community mourned the passing of such a strong and prominent scholarly woman. Her eight comets still burn brightly somewhere in the heavens.

It's easy to imagine Caroline working in her rose garden, scanning the heavens for mysterious points of light. The lovingly detailed naturalistic foliage is beautiful enough to grace a classic English Garden. Each flower and leaf is accented with fiery Austrian crystals, and luminous faux pearls along with dainty pearl buds that are scattered throughout, like nebulous wisps of light in the heavens. The design measures a generous 7 inches of the 11-inch band. The use of genuine 14-karat gold makes this beauty an automatic heirloom, and the off-white pearls compliment ivory, champagne, and candlelight gowns wonderfully. The bride is wearing necklace No. 436, earrings No. 441, and veil which are not included with this tiara.
